How I Stay Sane While Hosting The Holidays

No, it’s not wine.

I start every holiday season with good intentions: cozy nights, simple menus, great company. But somehow, I end up hosting all the gatherings, prepping and cooking the entire time, and being the only one not actually enjoying any of it. Somewhere between lighting the candles and refilling everyone’s glasses, I realized I needed a drink, too.

Cocktails have never been my forte. One glass turns into a sugar rush, a crash, and a morning spent swearing off alcohol. That’s when I found my balance in a can… Cann. It’s the kind of drink that keeps up with me: refreshing balance, and chaos-approved.

Keeping It Together (Kinda)

Let’s be honest, hosting isn’t for the faint of heart. You’re juggling food, playlists, conversations, and the occasional “can I help?” that somehow makes things more chaotic. But lately, I’ve learned that hosting doesn’t have to feel like running a marathon.

Now, when I set the table, I also set a Cann aside for myself. There’s something about cracking one open that signals the start of the night, but without the stress that comes with it. It’s light enough to sip while I’m still in motion, but balanced enough to help me slow down and enjoy the fun.

Hosting is still effortful, but with Cann it comes with more memories.

Elevate Any Moment

It really just depends on the kind of night I have ahead of me. I’ve never had a bad one when I start the party early with Lemon Lavender. If it’s a work crowd or I’m meeting new people, Ginger Lemongrass is my go-to. When it’s close friends, Blood Orange Cardamom always wins. And if the in-laws are on the guest list, I definitely save a Grapefruit Rosemary for the end of the night.

  • Lemon Lavender – For the calm before the storm. Subtle, soothing + quietly confident to bring peace to the prep.
  • Ginger Lemongrass – For when the guests arrive. Bright, smooth + energizing to keep your spark without draining your battery.
  • Blood Orange Cardamom – For rush hour. Warm, spicy + tangy. The best during loud laughs, louder music, and second servings.
  • Grapefruit Rosemary – For the after-party exhale. Crisp, herbal + grounding. A nightcap that doesn’t come with a morning hangover.

To The Hosts Who Do The Most

I see you. This year, I’m gifting myself permission to slow down, and I hope you do the same. Because, as cliché as it may sound, the best present isn’t under the tree. It’s actually being present enough to enjoy the moment you created for the people you care about.

So here’s to the ones who plan, prep, pour, and still manage to make it all look effortless. Here’s to discovering the holiday hero I didn’t know you needed.
